If you are experiencing an issue with your product, or should you like to enhance your product's functionality:

Step 1: Identify the printer's current code levels, and then consider the decisions below. For help identifying current firmware levels, see "How to Check Printer Firmware Levels".

  1. Review current release notes and  history below to identify a needed fix or function.
  2. Eliminate the scenarios that follow below. 
  3. Continue to Step 2.
The latest firmware; for example, the firmware version under Device Information, is already at the level specified in this article. Contact Lexmark Technical Support or search KnowledgeBase for other solutions.

  2. Proceed to Step 2 only if you know whether your original fix or feature has been included in this latest firmware release.

DLE identification

  1. Review current release notes and  history below to identify a needed fix or function.
  2. Contact Lexmark Technical Support.
  3. Mention to the support representative the type of DLE card and the problem that is fixed by this firmware release.
  4. Request an equivalent level of firmware compatible with your DLE option.

Make sure the printer is READY to receive firmware, and do not interrupt the printer's power or data connection during the update process.    

 

Firmware Flash Methods (.fls file extensions)
Information Recommended use
Embedded Web Server (EWS Open your Internet browser and enter the printer's IP address. Select Settings > Update Firmware. You have network access to the printer's embedded web server. (See example below.)

How to check printer firmware levels

To do this, obtain the Menu Settings page or access the printer's embedded web server (EWS) for this purpose. 

Checking firmware levels via Printer Menu's Setting page

1 Press the Menu button on the Operator Panel.
2 Touch Reports.
3 Touch Menu Settings Page to start printing.
4 Look for the code level under “Device Information”. 

 

Checking firmware levels via the printer's embedded web server (EWS):

1 Launch your Internet browser application.
2 After http://, enter the printer's IP address.
3 Click on Reports.
4 Click on Device Information.
