If you are experiencing an issue with the your product, or you would like to enhance your product's functionality.

Step 1: Check your printer's current code levels. See "How to Check Printer Firmware Levels" below if you are unfamiliar with this procedure.    

If your printer has ... (scenarios)
Then...
Printer firmware (Base) code < LW41.SA.P454
  1. Review Release Notes above to identify a fix or feature needed.
  2. Eliminate the scenarios that follow below. 
  3. Continue to Step 2.
The latest firmware; for example, the firmware version under Device Information is already at the level specified in this article. Contact Lexmark Technical Support or search Knowledgebase for other solutions.
A special version of firmware installed to address a specific issue or add specific functionality.
  1. Again, reference the Release Notes for identification purposes.
  2. Proceed to Step 2 only if you know your original fix or feature has been included in this latest firmware release. 
  3. Contact Lexmark Technical Support if you cannot determine if your fix has been implemented in this new version of firmware.
An issue with a specific DLE-card function or other function not identified in this article...

DLE identification

  1. Reference the Release Notes for identification purposes.
  2. Contact Lexmark Technical Support.
  3. Mention to the support representative the type of  DLE card and the problem that is fixed by this firmware release.
  4. Request an equivalent level of firmware compatible with your DLE option.

Make sure the printer is READY to receive firmware, and do not interrupt the printer's power or data connection during the update process.

Information Recommended Use
Embedded Web Server (EWS Open your internet browser and enter the IP address of the printer. Select Settings > Update Firmware. You have network access to the printer's embedded web server. (See example below.)

How to check printer firmware levels

To do this, obtain the Menu Settings page or access the printer's embedded web server (EWS) for this purpose. 

Checking firmware levels via Printer Menu's Setting page

1 Press the Menu button on the Operator Panel.
2 Touch Reports.
3 Touch Menu Settings Page to start printing.

Look for the code level under “Device Information”. 

 

Checking firmware levels via the printer's embedded web server (EWS):

1 Launch your internet browser application.
2 After http://, enter the printer's IP address.

Click on Reports.

4 Click on Device Information.
