How to Unlock the Printer If It Gets into the Locked State

What you will see 


When the Operator Panel Lock feature is enabled, the printer home screen will appear like this:

 

 

  

Unlocking printer home screen


IMPORTANT! The new printers' method of unlocking the printer is different from that of previous printer generations; additionally; the method on the newer generation will depend on the firmware version. The Operator Panel Lock feature is NOT controlled by the printer security jumper; therefore, it will be ineffective if that jumper is toggled.

For the steps on how to unlock the printer, choose from the following:

NOTE: You may refer to Document ID:HO550 for the steps in checking the printer firmware.

 

  

Printers running FW2 or FW3 (firmware code level has xx.02y.zzz or xx.03y.zzz)

 1 Click the lock icon in the middle of the screen.

Log in with an account that has the "Operator panel lock" access. If you successfully log in, you will see a message in the bottom middle of the screen which says “logged in as …”.

Note: A security login access to Operator Panel Lock option exists to unlock the printer home screen. Admin accounts have this access by default and all other accounts would have to be explicitly given this access level.

Press the lock icon again.

Panel is now unlocked and you can see the home screen.

 Printers running FW4 (firmware code level has xxxxx.04y.zzz)

 1 Click the lock icon and log in with an account that has "operator panel lock" access.
 

Note: A security login access to Operator Panel Lock option exists to unlock the printer home screen. Admin accounts have this access by default and all other accounts would have to be explicitly given this access level.
