  Properties

Problem

Cannot see complete fax history; Fax transmission log failure; Fax history limitations

Environment

How to enable auto printer logs; Recent fax activity; X632e MFP

Solution

What you will see

As the Auto Print Logs feature purges previous fax history entries, the printed log shows only the most recent fax transmission information.

Explanation

By design, Auto Print Logs provides a printed history of the most recent fax activity.  It was not intended for long-term fax monitoring.
The amount of programmed memory reserved for this function varies by MFP model as follows:

  • 40 record limit on MFPs with the X4500 (4036-304) or X4600 (4036-307) scanner.

  • 200 record limit on X64xe and X65xe series MFPs.

  • 40 record limit for most other MFPs.

Each successive facsimile sent or received after the limits is purged from the MFP's memory. For example, the fax history displayed for faxes 1-40 is replaced by 41 - 80, with the previous 40 entries eliminated.

How to activate Auto Print Logs

This feature can be activated locally via the MFP touch-screen user interface or remotely via the MFP web page.

    • User interface path: Menus > Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup > Fax Log Settings > Auto Print Logs
    • Web page path: Settings or Configuration > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup > Fax Log Settings > Auto Print Logs
