This article outlines the procedure for saving the device configuration settings if the printer or network adapter requires replacement.
Saving or exporting configuration settings is important for several reasons, including:
- Time saved reconfiguring multiple macros for multiple paper/form types. - Reapplication of static IP parameters if a replacement printer/network card requires it. - Reduction of down-time in critical printing environments. - Use of UCF file to configure other printers of the same model. - Simplified printer/network card replacement in crucial printing environments.

Open the printer's web page, i.e. http://[printer_ip_address], where [printer_ip_address] is the IP address of the printer. Click Configuration. Click Import/Export. Click Export Settings File. A File Download dialog window will appear asking you to save or open the file. Click Save. Lastly, select the destination directory and click Save/OK again.
