How to Add Applications for Scanning Documents to When the Printer Is Connected via Wireless

Overview

This article explains how you can add applications to scan your documents to.

Instructions

  1. Click Start> All Programs > Lexmark 9300 Series > All-In-One Center.  (In Windows Vista, press the Windows key on the keyboard.) The following screen appears:

    In the bottom right corner you will see Update the list of applications to send scans to.

  2. Click Update the list of applications to send scans to.  You should see the following screen:

  3. Click either the Add or the Enhanced Search button.  The Add New Applications screen will appear after a period of time. The amount of time will vary depending on the size of your hard drive and the quantity of applications installed on your system.

  4. Select the applications that you would like your printer to be able to scan documents to one by one, clicking the <-Add button after each selection.
     

  5. Click Done. You will be returned to the Edit Scanning Applications List. Select a default application to scan to by clicking Set as Default.  The default application can be identified by the word Default displayed after it.

  6. Click the Close button.  This will take you back to the first screen.
     

  7. To test your changes, go to your printer. Use the down arrow to scroll to Scan on the LCD screen, and then press the check mark. This will bring up the Scan: Network options. You should see a list of the PCs that use this printer for printing and scanning.

  8. Use the up or down arrows to highlight the PC that you want the scan job sent to.  Then press the check mark. The LCD should display Downloading scan applications list from your computer.  Please wait, followed by the words Scan Mode across the red banner at the top of the screen.
     

  9. Go to the line where you see Scan to. To the right of that you should see an application name, e.g. <Clipboard>.
     

  10. You can use the left or right arrow buttons to scroll through the list of applications that your printer has downloaded.
