How to Reset the Z1400 and Z1500 Series Network Settings

This article explains how to reset all configured network settings on the printer.
IMPORTANT! Performing this procedure will require you to reconfigure the printer using either the Wireless Setup Utility or the printer driver installation CD, depending on your circumstances.


Reset procedure

Step Action
1 Turn the printer ON .
2 Press the power button once to put the printer into standby mode .
Open the cover, and leave it open.

Press and hold the power button for 45-60 seconds.

Note: This procedure requires a slow count of 45-60 seconds.


With the cover open, wait for approximately two minutes for the Wi-Fi light to return. If the light is not solid orange, remove the power cable from the back of the printer and then reinsert it.

Note: You can leave the cover open following the button press, or close the cover after reinserting the power supply.


The printer should turn ON and you should see the power light solidly illuminated . After initialization has completed, a solid orange Wi-Fi indicator light  should appear.

Important! If the Wi-Fi light goes back to  (blinking orange) or to (solid green), you have not successfully reset the printer. Start the procedure again from Step 1, counting more slowly this time.


Print out another settings page to verify that the printer has been reset.
