| Properties |
The print queue allows you to pause printing, resume printing, restart printing, and cancel all or individual print documents. This article will focus on the last of these options and describe how you can delete, or cancel, all or particular print jobs.
Step Action 1 Click on the Windows logo start button. 2 Click on Control Panel on the right-hand side of the start menu contents. 3 Click on Hardware and Sound. 4 Click on Printers to open the folder containing your installed printer(s). 5 Double-click on your printer object (i.e. picture icon with the printer description/name).
This is the print queue. Any pending, or currently printing print jobs will be listed here.
Use steps 1-5 in the table above to access the print queue.
Delete all print jobs
Click on Printer in the toolbar and then click on Cancel All Documents,
or Right-click in the print queue and select Cancel All Documents from the pop-up menu.
Delete individual print jobs
- Highlight the individual job in the print queue by clicking on it.
- Right-click on the highlighted job and select Cancel from the pop-up menu.
IMPORTANT! If a job is stuck in the print queue and cannot be deleted or canceled using the above steps, there may be an issue with the printer spooler that controls the printing options in Windows. If you observe this symptom, it may be necessary to stop and restart the print spooler. Click here for an article explaining how to start and stop the print spooler in Windows Vista. After performing this procedure, you can try again to delete or cancel any remaining jobs in the print queue.
Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance. NOTE: When calling for support, you will need to know your printer model type and serial number.
Please call from near the printer and computer in case the technician asks you to perform a task involving one of these devices.
