Set up fax forwarding; Fax forward function



This article explains what fax forwarding is and how you can set it up on your multifunction printer (MFP).

What is "Fax Forwarding"? 

Fax forwarding allows you to set up your MFP to forward an incoming fax to one of the following:

  • Another fax machine

  • An e-mail address

  • An FTP server

  • Lexmark Document Solution Services (LDSS)

Before you begin

You first have to set up a shortcut for the fax forward function you are using. Refer to the printer's User's Guide for instructions. Click here  and select the guide for your printer.

Setting up Fax Forwarding using the printer's Web page

  1Go to the Web browser of the printer.  ...
  2Click Configuration.
  3Click Fax Settings
  4Click Analog Fax Setup
  5Under Fax Receive Settings, change Fax Forwarding  to Forward.
  6Enter the required number next to Forward to Shortcut.  ...
  7Click Submit.

Setting up Fax Forwarding using the scanner touchscreen

  1Lightly press the Menus option on the screen.  
  2Press Settings.
  3Press Fax Settings.
  4Press Fax Receive Settings
  5Change Fax Forwarding to Forward.
  6Enter the Forward to Shortcut number.  ...
  7Press  Submit.
