Solution

Overview

When printing from a computer, the printer produces blurry, fuzzy, or double print. However, the print output is fine on sent or received faxes or on internal printer test pages.

This problem can be caused by certain motherboard/processor combinations commonly seen in E-machines, or Gateway and Compaq PCs. 

Resolution

Print an internal test page on from your printer (click here for instructions).
Does the test page exhibit the defect?

If Yes, go to Step 3.
If No, go to Step 2.

Did your printer come with a USB hub? 

If Yes, go to Step 4.
If No, go to Contacting Lexmark below.

Clean the cartridge contacts inside the printer (click here for instructions) and print another internal test page.
Did the test page exhibit the defect?

If Yes, go to Contacting Lexmark below.
If No, the problem is resolved.

Attach the USB hub to the USB port on the PC and then attach the printer to the USB hub.  Try printing a document from the printer.
Did the document exhibit the print quality defect?

If Yes, go to Contacting Lexmark below.
If No, the problem is resolved.
