Tip 1: Refine your search

  1. Be sure to select your product by entering the Product Name or selecting it from the carousel.
  2. Enter complete thoughts specific to your query:

For example: Entering 'my x4950 color cartridge won't print' will return more specific results than 'x4950 cartridge'.

  3. Refrain from using the word "Lexmark" in your searches.
  4. Only use double quotes (") in your search if you are quoting an exact error message from a printer or phrase from a Lexmark manual or publication.
  5. Do not use special characters other than the following:
    a. Double Quotes (")
    b. Hyphens/Dashes (-)
    c. Periods/Dots (.)
    d. Apostrophes (')
    e. Commas (,)

Tip 2: Perform an unfiltered search using the Technical Library

If unable to locate a specific article or topic, try performing an unfiltered search.

To do this:

  • Select KnowledgeBase under Tech Library.
  • Leave Product or Software Name blank.
  • Enter your query and click Submit.

Tip 5: Bypass cache or eliminate previous search history

Bypass cache

Some users will not have the option to clear cache memory for various reasons. If this is the case, then try bypassing the browser's cache and force the webpage to reload.

More information about this capability can be found in this Wikipedia article.

Clear cache (History)

Depending on the page-load failure, it is possible that the problem is being caused by a cached webpage or saved cookie(s).
