How to enable automatic population of the Reply address;
Scan to E-mail
; NT authentication is enabled
Solution
To enable automatic population of the Reply: address field when NT authentication is being used, set the MFP's default Reply: address to the following:
Thus, when a user logs into the MFP, the Reply: address field on all e-mail scanned by that user will be populated as follows:
@ EMAILDOMAIN.COM
where <userid>is the login name used to authenticate the MFP user. For example, if the login name used for authentication is JSMITH, the Reply: address field will be populated with the e-mail address JSMITH@ EMAILDOMAIN.COM. Note: This process assumes that the MFP is already configured for scanning to e-mail. If you need assistance in setting up the MFP for this functionality, refer to this article.
Note
Automatic population of the Reply field only works if NT authentication is enabled on the MFP. Click here for additional information on NT authentication. When NT authentication is enabled, the MFP does not automatically retrieve a user's e-mail address. However, the MFP can be configured to populate the Reply: field for scanning to e-mail in certain scenarios. For this process to work, all users of the MFP must have similar e-mail addresses, such as @emaildomain.com.
