Install

Unable to add pre-configured network printer 
To add pre-configured network printers, click here

Cannot install Lexmark printer in case-sensitive format system
Case-sensitive is not supported by Lexmark printer drivers. Click here to learn more.

Cannot add network printer when firewall is enabled in Mac OS X 10.7. Follow steps below:

Open System Preferences.

Note: This should be located on your dock; if not, click the apple icon on the upper-left corner and on the drop-down menu, look for System Preferences.

Under System Preferences, double-click and select Security & Privacy, then select Firewall tab and click on the Advanced button.

Note: If the Advanced button is grayed out, just select the option 'Click the lock to make changes.' It should be located on the lower left-hand side.

Disable or uncheck the options Enable stealth mode and Block all incoming connections. You may also select the plus [+] sign to add Lexmark services. See list of Lexmark Services found below:

  • LexmarkNetBackend.app
  • LexmarkCUPSDriver.app
  • Lexmark Scanner.app 
  • LexNetworkServices
  • AppHostInfoUpdater
  • Lexmark TWAIN 

Note: These services can be found in this path: Mac HD\Library\LaunchAgents or Library\LaunchDaemons.

 
4 Another step would be to put a checkmark in the box provided for Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections.  
5 Restart computer and print again.  No Image


Previous print queue installed on Mac OS X 10.6.8 system after an upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7 is not working.

Cannot add print queue on Mac OS X 10.7 using CUPS web interface
Adding a print queue using CUPS Web is not supported by Lexmark printer drivers. Use the Lexmark printer driver that comes with your product, or download it from Lexmark support site.

Print

Error message appears when printing on Mac OS X 10.7 after OS upgrade with previous driver installed.

1 Open Applications and select Utilities folder, then click on Disk Utility.  
2 On the Disk Utility window, select Mac HD (upper left-hand corner), then click and select Repair Disk Permission button.  
3 To verify whether the Repair Disk Permission has been completed, just scroll down on the 'Show details' window and look for the indication Permissions repair complete.  
4 Restart computer and print again.  No Image

If you still encounter the same error, uninstall the previous printer driver.

Note: For the re-installation of your printer driver, use Lexmark web package drivers available on the Lexmark website. Click link to download the specific driver for your printer.

Scan

ABBYY FineReader OCR is not working after an upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7.
ABBYY FineReader OCR is not supported on Lexmark printer drivers for Mac OS X 10.7. There will be an upcoming support for this; visit this site regularly for updates.

Cannot scan via wireless using Image Capture on Mac OS X 10.7
Wireless scanning is only applicable to printers with Bonjour Support in Image Capture. Click here to check if your printer is supported.

Cannot scan after Mac OS X 10.7 upgrade
Click here to check whether your printer is Bonjour-enabled. If it is, use Image Capture for scanning. Click here for scan instructions. If printer is not Bonjour-enabled, use USB connectivity for scanning.
