MVP 11.2.1: Heavy Use of a Security Firewall Will Prevent MVP Communication |
Document ID:FA730 |

Cannot communicate with server; No web client access to the MVP server; Cannot communicate with devices; No communication; MVP is not communicating; No application communication; Firewall issues; MVP ports open and still unable to communicate
Overview
MVP communication stops after a change in firewall security settings.
Explanation
MVP is made of essentially a client component and a server component. If there is a firewall sitting between the client and server, the application's use of Remote Method Invocation(RMI) in conjunction with strict firewall security settings is likely the cause of this failure.
Suggested Remedy
Turn off necessary firewall restrictions for MVP client or web applet to communicate with the MVP server.
