What Types of Certificate Algorithms Do Lexmark Printers Support?

A "Signature algorithm not supported" error message implies that the certificate type used in the printer is not supported.



Certificate algorithms

Because of the recently found vulnerabilities on SHA1 certificates, users are now moving to SHA2 certificates

SHA2 has four kinds of hash functions:

  • SHA224
  • SHA256
  • SHA384
  • SHA512

Although Lexmark printers support the SHA2 certificate, not all of them support all hash functions, especially SHA384 and SHA512.
