What Is OCR? |

When you scan a document, the scanner is creating an image. The image is one single block of information. You can look at it on your screen and edit it like a photo document, but you cannot edit the text that it contains.
The purpose of the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) function is to allow you to edit, format, or erase the text in the scanned document. NOTE: To enable you to work with the scanned text, the software links the image to your selected word processing application.
