What you will see
You are unable to create a Scan Profile on any Lexmark multifunction device after updating to Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks). The Scan Profile dialog box opens, but you are unable to submit a profile. It displays the error message shown in the image below:

Currently, the latest Java version 7 breaks Scan Profile functionality. It is therefore recommended to hold off on the Java updates until a fix has been issued.
To work around this issue, it is suggested to disable Java 7 and re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6. To do so, please follow the steps outlined in this article.
