Firmware Update Recommendations

 

Step 1: Check your printer's current code levels. See "How to Check Printer Firmware Levels" below if you are unfamiliar with this procedure.  

If your printer is ... And... Then...
At the latest firmware level described in this article... You are experiencing an issue with the device Stop here, and contact Lexmark Technical Support.

 Other .FLS file update methods  

  

Make sure the printer is READY to receive firmware, and do not interrupt the printer's power or data connection during the update process.

How to Check Printer Firmware Levels

To do this, obtain the Menu Settings page or access the printer's embedded web server (EWS) for this purpose. 

Checking firmware levels via Printer Menu's Setting page

1 Press the Menu button on the Operator Panel.
2 Touch Reports.
3 Touch Menu Settings Page to start printing.

Look for the code level under “Device Information”. 

Checking firmware levels via the printer's embedded web server (EWS):

1 Launch your internet browser application.
2 After http://, enter the printer's IP address.

Click on Reports.

4 Click on Device Information.
