NOTE: Periodic printer firmware updates address end-user performance issues, provide new functionality, and provide performance improvements.
NOTE: Firmware updates are cumulative, therefore all release notes should be evaluated to determine whether a firmware update is required.
Firmware Update Recommendations
Step 1: Check and compare your printer's current code levels to those listed above. See "How to Check Printer Firmware Levels" below if you are unfamiliar with this procedure.
| If... | Then... |
Click here for an example "Menu Settings" page that illustrates a printer with an installed DLE option card.
|
Stop here, and contact Lexmark Technical Support. Note: Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for the compatible firmware for a corresponding DLE since DLE cards are base-code dependent. Incorrect download and flashing to the printer could lead to an irrecoverable error. |
Step 2: Reference the Release Notes below to identify your issue, or continue to Step 3.
NOTE: The release notes are provided as an attempt to help you identify your printer's issue or recognize new product functionality. If you are uncertain of the necessity to update firmware, it is still recommended that you update firmware since technical support representatives will often request this procedure as part of their diagnosis process.
Step 3: Download and update printer firmware.
After downloading and extracting the firmware update utility package, or individual flash (.fls) files, select your update method. See Firmware Availability below.
