Detailed System Information

Version information and more specific information about your computer or tablet hardware specifications and available resources

 SeeSystem Information/ msinfo32
  • Full OS Name
  • Version and Build
  • System type: ARM or x86 or x64 Intel/AMD-based processor and 32-bit or 64-bit Windows
  • Other information about your computer and  hardware resources

Modern UI and Desktop

Step Action
1  Press ( + R) to bring up the Run screen.
2  Next to Open:, type winver.
3  Click OK.

 

Desktop only "Power User Shortcut Menu"

Step Action
1 Move your cursor to the lower-left corner of your desktop. 
2 Right-click and then select Run from the shortcut menu.
3 Next to Open:, type winver.

PC Info: System

 

Modern UI

 

Step  Action
1  Bring up your Charms.
2  Click or tap the Search charm.

 Click on Control Panel located under Windows System.

Note: This will take you out of the Modern UI. Click or left-click in the lower-left corner to return to the Modern UI.

 Click on System.

 

Desktop (PC Info Method)
 

Step Action
1  Bring up your Charms.
2  
Click or tap the Settings charm.
3  Click on PC info.

 

Desktop (Power User Shortcut Method)

Step Action
1 Move your cursor to the lower-left corner of your desktop.
2 Right-click and then select System from the shortcut menu.

System Information (msinfo32.exe)

 

Modern UI and Desktop (Via Charms)

 Step Action
1 Bring up your Charms.
2 Click or tap the Search charm.
3 Start typing msinfo32.exe
4 You should see System Information on the left.
5 Click on System Information.

 

Modern UI (Via Administrative Tools)

Simply click on System Information.

This method is only available if you configure to show administrative tools under Settings charm > Tiles.

 

 

Desktop (Via "Power User Shortcuts")

Step Action
1 Move your cursor to the lower-left corner of your desktop. 
2

Right-click and then select Run from the shortcut menu.

Alternative: Select Control Panel > Administrative tools > System Information shortcut.
3 Next to Open:, type msinfo32.exe..
4 Click OK.
