Repeating White/Smudge-type Print (about 37mm or 1-1/2") Appears After Replacing the Imaging Unit

Problem

Solution

What you will see 
 

After inserting a NEW Imaging unit, a white/smudge type of print defect occurs, repeating at a 37mm (1-1/2") frequency.

 

Possible cause
 

Toner contamination on the charge roll of the new Imaging Unit.

 

Recommendation
 

This print defect will normally clear up in the first 30-40 pages or with continuous printing using the new Imaging Unit.

If the defect is still present after that, contact Lexmark Technical Support to replace the Imaging Unit.
