Lexmark X204n Holds Faxes Until Power Cycle and Other Fax Behavior Anomalies
What you will see
Outgoing faxes are held and the X204 MFP is unresponsive until the machine is powered OFF and ON.
Other fax symptoms which may be corrected by this fix:
Check and update the MFP's firmware to the latest level if necessary.
To do this, you will perform the following:
First, print a Menus Settings Page to verify the latest printer firmware level.

NOTE: Updating your printer firmware is not difficult; however, certain situations may require that you call Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance.
After you have downloaded the firmware package to your destination folder, extract the X204.zip file using WinZip or WinRar. Recommendation: Extract the .fls file to your Windows Desktop for easy access.
Verify the existence of the .fls file now visible on your desktop, or in another selected destination folder. Alternatively, you can run the .exe file for a user-guided application
Double-click on the .exe package and follow the on-screen instructions.
To do this, select the method that coincides with your printer connection type. Use the table below to assist you with your upgrade method preference:
