Solution

What You Will See


When you connect via USB to your printer, you get a communication error when attempting to print. Upon checking you see that the Device Manager correctly detects the USB Filter Driver, and the firewall is not blocking any files. You can scan using the All-In-One Printer. 
Other symptoms that you may experience:
  • The printer did not print, and print jobs are listed in "error" status in the task list.
  • No error message appears. However, the printer does not print.
  • The problem only manifests itself when the printer is connected via USB.
     

 

Explanation


When you connect via USB to a PC using AMD USB, the AMB USB architecture will prevent the printer from printing. 

 

Things to Try


It is important to understand that different PC or motherboard vendors will have different solutions available, however, below are some suggestions provided by various vendors. 

Dell Studio 1536

Uninstall the USB filter.

Contact you motherboard vendor or PC manufacturer for further support assistance if you are unaware of how to the perform this procedure.

Step Action
1 Go to Control Panel.
2 Go to Programs and Features.

Uninstall AMD USB Audio Driver Filter.

Note: Uninstalling this AMD USB Audio Driver Filter will not have any impact on systems that have Vista Service Pack 1 installed.
