Solution

Overview


When a Watchdog Error appears on the printer display, it is generally the result of an error message on the printer that causes a communication error between the printer and the scanner. This communication error will cause the scanner display to go dark and the yellow LED light beside it to flash.

 

 

Troubleshooting


Step Action
1 Power off the printer.
2 Press and hold the Menu button.
3 Power on the printer again.
Does the printer have an error code on the display panel?

Yes: Enter the specific error code in the problem search field on the previous page, and then follow the directions for resolving the specific error messages.
No: Power the printer off and back on again. If the problem persists, continue on to Contacting Lexmark below.
