Problem
Error: " 241 Paper Jam Check Tray 1 "; Error: " 242 Paper Jam Check Tray 2 "; Error: " 243 Paper Jam Check Tray 3 "; Error: " 244 Paper Jam Check Tray 4 "
Environment
Jams in one of the four possible tray locations will result in a 24 Paper Jam message, where is the number of the tray where the jam has occurred.
Solution
The locations of the various possible paper jams are highlighted in the graphic below.
Note: 241 Paper jams taking place in tray 1 and stopping about 5cm (approx. 2 inches) out of the tray can be caused by paper hitting the turn guide door (see picture below).
Check the following:
- Ensure that only supported media is being used in the trays and that it is not being stacked higher than is recommended for that media type.
- Make sure the paper is firmly under the corner bucklers and that the side restraints are set correctly.
- Make sure there is no damage to the turn guide door pictured above.
- If the paper jams are not consistent with the type shown in the above picture, carry out the steps under Clearing 241- 244 paper jams below.
Clearing 241- 244 paper jams:
- Pull out the tray indicated on the display.
- Remove any wrinkled or creased paper.
- Push down on the remaining paper in the tray until the bottom plate clicks into place.
- Close the tray.
- Press the Go button on the printer operator panel.
- If the paper jam message continues, check and clear all paper from the paper path.
