Document ID:HO3831

09/10/12 Properties

Problem

Multi-page printing; Bi-Directional support; Delayed Printing; Mac OS 10.6; Multi-page PDF files

Environment

Lexmark Pro4000; Lexmark Pro5500 Series; Mac OS X 10.6; USB / Network

Solution

Symptoms

It takes very long to cancel a print job from the Mac through the Cancel or "X" button in the printer's operator panel. This happens when printing a multi-page PDF file with ten or more copies, Images per page set to 16, and Print 16 copies per page is checked. See image below, (click image to enlarge it).

Cause

A possible issue with the current bi-directional support will cause this.

Solution

To cancel the print job, do the following steps.

Step Action Click Image to Enlarge
1 Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax.
2 Select the printer from the list and double-click to open the Print Dialog Box.
3 In the print dialog, select the job and press the cancel button at the top.
