What you will see
The Lexmark 6500e scanner does not wake up from Sleep Mode even after pressing the touch screen or any of the buttons on the Operator panel.
Most likely reason
The scanner may have lost connectivity to the printer while it was in SLEEP MODE. This could happen if the printer lost power or the Ethernet cable between scanner and printer became loose or disconnected.
Solution
Verify that all cables are in place and properly seated. This includes the printer's power cable, the scanner cable, and the Ethernet cable linking both devices. Reboot the printer first, and then reboot the scanner.
