Problem
When scanning to email from the Lexmark Printer Home software, you will get a "Program Missing" error. Please see image below.
Solution
Please follow the instructions provided below:
Step Action Click Links for Images 1 To open WIN.INI, click on the Start Button > Run, then search for "sysedit" (command for System Configuration Editor) and press enter to open it.
CAUTION! MAKE A BACKUP OF THE WIN.INI file first – You can search for the file in your system (file is located in C:\Windows) and make a copy of that file and save it on your desktop. Or select all the text in the WIN.INI window and paste it in Notepad and save as a backup before you continue.
2 In the System Configuration Editor window, click on the WIN.INI window to bring it in front of the screen. The WIN.INI must contain the following:
[Mail]
MAPI=1
If it does not contain this section, then you need to add it. Click the right-hand link to see image.WIN.INI Entries 3 After adding the entries, click File > Save to save the changes made to WIN.INI.
