What you will see

The printer will post 905.01 Service Communication Error upon boot up and sometimes when it starts to print or after sending a print job.



 Possible cause 

Most of the time, improper installation of the Photoconductor (PC) unit(s) causes the error. 




Step Action

Power off the printer. 


Re-seat the PC unit(s) and make sure they are installed fully. For instructions on how to install or replace PC units, click here


Power on the printer and see whether the error clears. 


If the error persists, replace all Photoconductor (PC) Units and see whether the error clears. 


If the error still shows even after replacing all of the PC units, call Lexmark Technical Support for other troubleshooting recommendations.
