Solution

Overview

While a 907.63 or 907.64 Service Engine Error on the Lexmark C77x or C78x Series Printer indicates that the Printhead Thermistor data is incorrect, the same error for the Lexmark X77x or x78X Color Laser MFP means that the MFP has registered a problem with one of the system cards not communicating as designed. Please refer to the directions in the table below to help determine which hardware part is causing the issue.

Troubleshooting

Certain rare occurrences, such as a power fluctuation or a static discharge in the vicinity of the printer, can cause a false 907.63 or 907.64 Service Engine Error message to appear. In such cases, the error is only temporary and can be easily resolved without service.
