202.93 Paper Jams or Print Quality Issue Upon Installation of Lexmark MS911 or MX91x Series

What you will see

A newly installed Lexmark MS911 printer or MX91x Multifunction printer (MFP) is exhibiting frequent paper jams and displaying the error code 202.93. In addition, print quality defects such as light printout might also be observed.


Possible cause

The symptoms described above are most likely due to a string that is still attached to the transfer roll.


Suggested remedy

Two clips are installed in the transfer roll to prevent the transfer roll from contacting the Image Transfer Belt during transportation and shipping. These clips are attached by string as shown in the photos below. Make sure to remove these clips upon installation.

NOTE: Should issue persist even though the clips were already removed or if the paper jam or print quality defect happens on separate occasions, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional troubleshooting suggestions.
