After running the scan to email function from Lexmark Printer Home, it will not open a "New Email" window and attach the scanned document.

Suggested Remedies


Option 1: File attachment in an E-mail

To do this:

  1. Scan the document/picture first using the printer's local or network TWAIN driver.

Where do I get the TWAIN driver?

This should already be installed and should be listed as Lexmark TWAIN driver, or network TWAIN driver is your list of available devices within any TWAIN compatible application.

NOTE: If the TWAIN driver is not listed in the application, you can download the TWAIN driver package from, or install it from the original software installation CD that came with the printer.

  1. After capturing the image file, ie., *.jpeg, *.pdf etc., open your E-mail application.
  2. Select the attachment option.
  3. Locate and select the scanned file name, i.e, filename.jpg. 
  4. Complete the construction of the e-mail and click Send.

Other scan methods:

  • Scan-to-PC. NOTE: This requires a network connetion and a compatible printer.  Click here for more information on how to perform this type of scan.
  • WIA (Windows Image Acquisition). See 


Option 2: Try the 32-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010.
