Troubleshooting Intermittent Network Dropped Connections on a Lexmark Laser Printer/MFP

This article will help you troubleshoot intermittent dropping off the network connection problems involving Lexmark laser printer/MFPs.

Lexmark laser printers that show the 900.00 firmware errors are intermittently failing over the network. After turning off the IPV6, the 900.00 errors clear and a new error is observed but more devices are still failing over the network.




Update the printer’s firmware with the latest EC4 release code or higher.



How to download firmware

  1. Go to
  2. Type your printer model in the “Enter Product Name” field and click  OR click on the picture of the correct printer model shown.
  3. Locate the “Downloads” tab.
  4. Select the version of the Operating System.
  5. Click the link available under "Firmware".

Once you have the latest firmware downloaded, proceed with any of the options below to perform the update.

Embedded Web Server (EWS) Recommended Open a browser and enter the IP address of the printer. Select Settings > Update Firmware.
