Document ID:TE612

06/16/14 Properties

Problem

EC3; Fonts not recognized; Some fonts does not appear; Poor DBCS print quality

Solution

What you will see

Double Byte Character Set (DBCS) fonts are missing or may not be printed properly. This is prevalent with MS410d and MS410dn printer models that are running EC3 firmware (LW30.PRL.P328).

How to confirm missing fonts

A clear indication that the fonts are missing occurs when these fonts do not appear on the print out when you print a Menu Settings page. The images below show sample Menu Settings pages from printers both with and without DBCS fonts.

NOTE: To print the Menu Settings pages, navigate through: Menu  > Reports > Menu Settings.
