How to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Accessing the MFP web page requires any combination of the following:
  • IP address or host name of the MFP.
  • Username, if required.
  • Password, if required.

NOTE:  If the device is already configured with a password, the default username is MarkNet.
To view the web page:
  1. Enter the MFP's IP address into the URL field.  For example, enter http://MFP_IP_ADDRESS, where MFP_IP_ADDRESS is the IP address of the MFP.
  2. If prompted, enter the security Username and Password

  1. Device Status

Other:  Supply Status may appear if additional finishing options are installed on the MFP. Click here for image.

  Device Status

Page Item (top-to-bottom) Explanation  Additional Information
Remote Status Screen Conveys user interface (UI) display messages.
  • Updates every two minutes, or can be forced to update via the "Refresh" button located under the remote status screen.

  • The update interval can be changed via the Configuration > General Settings page.

  • Grey, blue, yellow, and red backgrounds help identify status - for example, a red background could signify an intervention required condition such as a paper jam.

  • It is recommended that configuration changes be made only when the status screen is showing "Ready".
IP address The IP address of the device IP address assignment is via DHCP, BOOTP, RARP or other.
Location Identifier Defined under the General Settings page.
Contact Identifier Defined under the General Settings page.
Toner Status Remaing toner capacity.  Wheel tension and other technologies determine this value.   Level determined by the encoder wheel on the toner cartridge.
Paper Input Tray
Displays:

  • Total number of trays detected by the printer.

  • Total capacity per individual drawer/tray

  • Paper size as detected by printer.

  • Paper type as set by user.

  • OK, Low, Empty, or Missing identifiers for Status.

  • Paper size is determined by correct positioning of the individual tray's paper guide assembly.

  • Paper type is user-defined via the printer's user interface, web page, or network printer administrative tool such as MVP.

MP Feeder Multi-purpose feeder

  • No auto-size sensing capabilities.

  • No color-coded level indicators.

  • Paper size is configured by user; however, the user may be prompted to press Go if paper size or type is improperly set.

  • Three possible MPF configurations: Cassette(default), First, and Manual result in different MP feeder behavior.

  • As with any other tray, MP feeder selection is made via the application unless the printer setting is configured for First.

  • Setting Configure MP Feeder to Manual will still require application selection of Manual rather than MP feeder

  • You may not see MP feeder as an available tray selection with a Manual printer Configure MP Feeder configuration.
Paper Output Bin Displays capacity of output bin and status. OKBin Full, or Bin Empty will be displayed when the output sensor is triggered or open. Bin Empty may be displayed if an output expander is installed.
Device Type Printer type identifier
Speed Calculated printer speed based on processed print data
Toner Cartridge Capacity Calculated toner cartridge life based on printing one page of text at 5% coverage per page, or 100% coverage on 1/20th of a sheet of paper.
Maintenance Kit Life Remaining Life expectancy of fuser, charge roller, transfer roller, and pick rollers determined by number of pages.
