Printing Preferences are all the settings available for printing. The Printing Preferences dialog box displays the features and options available in your printer driver.

How to Access the Printing Preferences in Windows Operating Systems

Follow the instructions for your operating system.

Microsoft Windows XP

Step Action
1 Click on .
2 Click on Printers and Faxes.
3 Right-click on the printer object.
4 Click on Printing Preferences from the drop-down menu.

NOTE: XP Classic View path: Click  > Settings > Printers and Faxes

Microsoft Windows Vista

Step Action
1 Click on .
2 Click on Control Panel.
3 Click on Hardware and Sound.
4 Click on Printers.
5 Right-click on the printer object.
6 Click on Printing Preferences from the drop-down menu.

NOTE: Classic View path: Click  > Control Panel > View Printers

Microsoft Windows 7

Step Action
1 Click on .
2 Click on Devices and Printers.
3 Right-click on the installed printer object.
4 Click on Printing Preferences from the drop-down menu.

NOTE: Category View path: Click > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > View Devices and Printers

Microsoft Windows 8

Step Action
1 With a touchscreen-capable device, swipe up while on the Start screen and touch the All apps icon OR with a mouse, right-click anywhere on the Start screen and then click All apps.
2 On the Apps screen, swipe or scroll to the right and find the Windows System category.

Press or click on the Control Panel icon.

Tip! With a keyboard, press the WIN key logo and X keys together to access the Power User Menu, which has a shortcut for Control Panel.

4 Click on Devices and Printers.
5 Right-click on the installed printer object.
6 Click on Printing Preferences from the drop-down menu.

NOTE: Category View path: Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > View Devices and Printers

TIP! You may show Preview before printing. This option enables you to view the layout of a document immediately before the print job begins to minimize errors.
