In Macintosh OS X 10.5 – 10.8, the printer does not print the job when paper size is set to Universal and beyond its maximum size.
Moreover, the printer operater panel will not prompt the user to load even the default paper size; i.e., Letter-size paper.
Suggested Remedy
Set a valid value for Universal paper size.
Explanation
Apple application limitation:
The application writes or appends a letter 'size' command to the print file whenever the user-defined region exceeds the maximum region defined in the PostScript Printer Description (PPD).
