Overview
 

This article details the steps to obtain the User's Guide on the installation CD. The User's Guide contains an important overview of the functions of your Lexmark printer as well as information pertaining to usage and supplies.

 

Procedure


Several ways exist to access the User's Guide. See options below.

Option 1

Step Action
1 Place the Lexmark installation CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2 Go to (Tools), View documentation, User's Guide. You will be prompted to save this documentation to your hard drive.
3 Click Yes to place a shortcut to the document on your desktop.

Open Windows Explorer. This can be done by right-clicking the windows  or  button.

Open My Computer, Lexmark CD, Pubs, <language>; e.g., My Computer\DVD RW Drive (E:) <printer model>\pubs\ENGLISH.

Click on the _user.pdf file.

Important! To view the User's Guide, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Note: Some CDs may contain the Acrobat Reader. If available, you can install it from the CD as follows:

a. In Windows Explorer, open Lexmark CD, AcroRead, Win32, <language>.
b. Click on the AcroRead.exe file in the right-hand pane.

Place the Lexmark installation CD in the CD-ROM drive. If Autoplay is enabled, click on Run Setup.EXE.

Note: Click Yes if a User Account Control pop-up window appears showing Setup Launcher for Lexmark international, Inc.

Click on Documentation.

Select User's Guide.

NOTE: If you do not have the installation CD and Internet access is available, click here for instructions on how to access the User's Guide via the Lexmark website.
