If a printer is being returned with the Toner cartridge and Imaging Unit, special precautions need to be taken to prevent damage to the unit. This document outlines the necessary steps to do this.
NOTE: Packaging tape should be used in the process below. The package of the replacement printer should have sufficient tape to use for this.
Open the front door and push the toner plunger down (A). Keep it in the down position using packaging tape (B).
Close front door and tape the door closed. The tape should extend from the multipurpose feeder door in the front (A) around and onto the side covers (B).
Note: If a replacement printer is received, it should have these tapes installed on it. Use these same tapes for the returned printer.
Insert the unit into foam with the front of printer in the curved portion of the foam. Install the top foam and tape box closed.
