Solution

What You Will See with UPD v. 2.X.5

From MS Word... You expect the printer prompt to say... However, actual printer prompt observed is...

You create and attempt to print a custom-sized document; e.g., Custom 5 x 7"*, and then select Print... 
 

*(127mm x 177.8mm)

Load Tray (#) with Size/Type as specified in the application. 

Load (a different tray) with an entirely different size paper; e.g., Load MP Feeder Letter/Plain.

Note: The prompt for expected Tray/Type/Size will vary based on your printer's default settings.

 

 

Recommended Resolution

Contact Lexmark Technical Support to obtain a driver version of 2.x.5.14 or greater to resolve this issue. 

 

Explanation

The Universal Print Driver has certain sizes specified in the GPD* file that are not all understood or supported by all printers. Hence, the printer receives a print file without a correct call for custom paper size/tray selection.
