What you will see
The Continue button is grayed out, appearing as: Continue, and thus preventing further driver installation.

NOTE: Screen appearance will vary by printer model and operating system version; however, any printer that requires the Wireless Setup Utility or the Wireless Setup Assistant will encounter this screen.
What to do
There are several possible reasons for an inactive Continue button. Try the following suggestions in the order provided to resolve this issue:

Confirm a solid connection of the USB installation cable on both printer and computer.
Hint: The USB port is identified by this symbol:.

Keeping Step 2 in mind, disconnect the USB cable from both printer and computer and then reconnect the USB cable at both ends.
Hint: Listen for audio alerts or notification icons or balloons in the Windows notification area. For example,or

If your computer has multiple USB ports, try connecting the USB installation cable to a different USB port.
Note: Passive or self-powered USB hubs may cause a problem.

If one is available, try connecting another USB device to the same USB port to see whether the operating system recognizes it.

If one is available, try a different USB cable that is under ten feet.
Note: Some port replicators or docking stations for laptops or notebooks may cause a problem.

Confirm that you are installing the correct software driver for your printer model. For example, a 7600 Series driver works with the X7650 and X7675 All-In-One.

Turn off the printer and disconnect and reinsert the power supply and power cord. Click here for image.

Click Quit to exit the installation. Remove the CD from the CD or DVD drive. Then reinsert the CD and try to perform the installation again.
Note: To save time, you can skip or close the hardware setup wizard if you have already completed these tasks.

Confirm that Device Manager recognizes the device.To open Windows Device Manager follow the instructions for your operating system:
Microsoft Windows 8 Microsoft Windows 7 Microsoft Windows Vista Microsoft Windows XP 1. With a touchscreen-capable device, swipe up while on the Start screen and touch the All apps icon OR with a mouse, right-click anywhere on the Start screen and then click All apps.
2. On the Apps screen, swipe or scroll to the right and find the Windows System category.
3. Press or click on the Control Panel icon.
Tip! With a keyboard, press the WIN key logo and X keys together to access the Power User Menu, which has a shortcut for Control Panel.

2. In the Run dialog box, type devmgmt.msc.

Next, disconnect the USB cable from the printer and reconnect it. Watch the Device Manager window while you do so. The appearance of the items in the screen should change as Device Manager tries to recognize the device. Click here for image.
Macintosh users
System Profiler is the Device Manager equivalent. Click here for instructions on accessing System Profiler, and look under Hardware > USB for the printer.

Does Device Manager show a change in appearance?
- If Yes, check if there are bangs; i.e., yellow question or exclamation marks showing to the left of the changes that appear.
Note: If no bangs appear, continue with installation. However, if there are bangs, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance.
- If No, there may be a problem with your computer and its USB support. The computer must recognize the USB cable in order for installation to work. Please contact computer manufacturer.

Reboot your PC and try these steps again.
