Update Instructions

Before attempting to update this printer to this latest firmware, you will need to make sure the the printer is at the minimum firmware level of LW1.PR.P151 (EC1.1).

A firmware update failure with a corresponding 'Invalid Version' message will result if your printer firmware level is not at .P151 or above.

Functional Enhancements

  1. Paper feed options now go to a low-power mode when the printer's primary motors go to an idle state, and before the printer enters sleep mode.
  2. Improved accuracy of the left-margin position when the Multi-purpose feeder (MPF) is used as the source tray, which also translates to improved output consistency of left margin between MPF and Tray 1.

At the latest firmware level described in this article... You are experiencing an issue with the device... Stop here, and contact Lexmark Technical Support.

If at LW1.PR.P151, and you are experiencing an issue with the device, or you would like to possibly enhance product functionality... Reference the Release Notes in an attempt to identify your issue, or continue to Step 2.

After downloading and extracting the files, you will update the device using the Windows automated flash file (.exe) or select your flash (.fls) update method below.

.FLS file update methods  

  

Make sure the printer is READY to receive firmware, and do not interrupt the printer's power or data connection during the update process.

Embedded Web Server (EWS Open your internet browser and enter the IP address of the printer. Select Settings > Update Firmware. You have network access to the printer's embedded Web server.

How to Check Printer Firmware Levels 

 

To do this, obtain the Menu Settings page or access the printer's embedded web server (EWS) for this purpose. 

Checking firmware levels via Printer Menu's Setting page

1 Press the Menu button on the Operator Panel.
2 Touch Reports.
3 Touch Menu Settings Page to start printing.

Look for the code level under “Device Information”. 

Checking firmware levels via the printer's embedded web server (EWS):

1 Launch your internet browser application.
2 After http://, enter the printer's IP address.

Click on Reports.

4 Click on Device Information.
