  4. Addressed an issue in which the "No analog line connected" message appears in spite of Line Features being disabled
  5. Fixed JBIG2 being negotiated in error for driver to fax.

  1. Addressed an issue in which the device awakes from sleep if TCP port 9100 is opened

  4. Addressed issue that could lead to faint thin artifacts at the bottom of copy output
  5. Addressed an issue leading to black edges appearing on edge to edge scans

  1. Corrected minor issue on the fax job log
  2. Addressed various Job Accounting Log issues
  3. Fixed an issue causing printer jams on duplex letterhead job
  4. Addressed some issues that could lead to the device hanging intermittently
  5. The maximum sleep timeouts have been reduced to meet Blue Angel requirements
  6. Made interface changes to improve the efficiency of the Downtime Reports app.
  7. Provided a fix for a condition that prevented locking 'originalMediaSize' for ScanUIPrompt
  8. Added targeted print performance improvements
  9. Fixed a Postscript error issue when trying to read AppSocket data with Remote Management set as Basic or Disabled
  10. Addressed some minor barcode bitmap font issues



Functional Enhancements:

  • Reduce energy consumption of the device when in sleep mode
  • Improvement in throughput performance when picking from Tray 3 or Tray 4
  • Unsupported supply algorithm updated

Field Issues and Fixes:

  • Corrected an image placement error when printing on media much narrower than letter/A4. Worse case was A6 media which was shifted by as much as 1.5mm to the right of the intended location
  • Improved toner usage estimation in the lightest print darkness settings
  • Fix for narrow media algorithm during large batch jobs and very specific timings

Functional Enhancements

  1. New intervention/message to warn customers when printing too many Vinyl Labels on MS81x models.

Error code for this new intervention is "10.xx".

  1. New intervention/message when double-sheet feeds are detected and flushed to the output bin.

Error code for this new intervention is "24x.08".

x denotes the originating tray number or location of the double-sheet feed.

  1. Enhanced the supply related email alerts by including the custom message (if one is defined) in the e-mail.

  1. Fixed a bug where e-mail alerts were not being sent out for the Nearly Low and Replace levels on supplies (e.g. Cartridge)

Firmware update recommendations


Step 1: Check your printer's current code levels. See "How to Check Printer Firmware Levels" below if you are unfamiliar with this procedure.  

If your printer is ... And... Then...
At the latest firmware level described in this article... Example only. You are experiencing an issue with the device Stop here, and contact Lexmark Technical Support.
Specific to a DLE or other function not identified in this article...

Example under "Menu Settings" page that illustrates a printer with an installed DLE option card.

If printer firmware (Base) code ≤ .P232 and Engine code ≤ .E410

You are experiencing an issue with the device, or you would like to possibly enhance product functionality... Reference the Release Notes in an attempt to identify your issue, or continue to Step 2.

After downloading and extracting the files, you will update the device using the Windows automated flash file (.exe) or select your flash (.fls) update method below

Make sure the printer is READY to receive firmware, and do not interrupt the printer's power or data connection during the update process.

Embedded Web Server (EWS Open your internet browser and enter the IP address of the printer. Select Settings > Update Firmware. You have network access to the printer's embedded web server.

How to check printer firmware levels

To do this, obtain the Menu Settings page or access the printer's embedded web server (EWS) for this purpose. 

Checking firmware levels via Printer Menu's Setting page

1 Press the Menu button on the Operator Panel.
2 Touch Reports.
3 Touch Menu Settings Page to start printing.

Look for the code level under “Device Information”. 


Checking firmware levels via the printer's embedded web server (EWS):

1 Launch your internet browser application.
2 After http://, enter the printer's IP address.

Click on Reports.

4 Click on Device Information.
