Print Quality Defect: Blurry Prints (Uneven Washed Out Prints)

Single-Function: C4150, CS720, CS725, CS727, CS728

Multifunction: CX725, CX727, XC4150

 

Issue Description:

A print quality issue that shows grainy, fuzzy, washed out or incomplete coverage on the page. You may also see a smudged or smeared line two inches from the bottom of the page. 

Note: This can occur on a new printer, but its occurrence is rare, and it can occur if replacing a transfer module, which comes as part of a maintenance kit.

Solution:

  1. Open the front door and locate the (blue) jam release lever, just below the fuser on the right-hand side.
     
  2. Pull down on the lever until it locks in place.
     
  3. Lift the lever back up until it springs back up.

  4. Close the front door and perform a print quality check to confirm whether the issue is resolved. (Settings > Reports > Print Quality Pages).
