Problem

All lights blinking; Printer will not print

Environment

How to obtain secondary error codes; When all the lights on the printer's operator panel blink at the same time,  you have a Service Error code. This indicates that something has failed in the printer.  

Solution


In order to help determine what has failed in the printer, you need to obtain the secondary error code:

  1. Press the Reset button once quickly and release it.  Note: Do not hold the button down for three seconds.

  2. Match the sequence of blinking lights to the list of secondary error codes below.


    • Ready light blinks. The printer has a Software Service Error Code. See this document for more information.

    • Data light blinks. The printer has a Fuser Failure Error. See this document for more information.

    • Ready, Data lights blink. The printer has a Mirror Motor Error. See this document for more information.

    • Load Paper light blinks. The printer has a Laser Diode Failure. See this document for more information.

    • Ready, Load Paper lights blink. The printer has a Controller Card Failure. See this document for more information.

    • Data, Load Paper lights blink. The printer has an Optional Memory Error. See this document for more information.

    • Ready, Data, Load Paper lights blink. The printer has a Fan Failure Error. See this document for more information.

    • Error light blinks. The printer has a Controller SRAM Failure Error. See this document for more information.

  3. If the secondary error code does not match any from the list above, do the following:


    1. Turn the printer off.

    2. Turn the printer back on.

    3. If all the indicator lights continue to blink, follow the above instructions again.
